An appointment is a promise: Why I require a deposit.
We've all been there: you plan something, look forward to it, and then life gets in the way. That's perfectly fine. What is frustrating, however—and what I often experienced in my early days without deposits—are the so-called "no-shows." Customers who simply don't show up without canceling.
Today I want to explain transparently why the deposit is so important for my work (and for your tattoo).
The lesson from the past
I used to work on a trust basis without a deposit. The result? I often sat in the studio for hours, the design was completely prepared, the needles were ready, the workspace was set up sterilely – and nobody showed up.
This is not only a financial loss, but also emotionally frustrating. A tattoo appointment is like any other professional appointment. Whether with a specialist doctor or in a fine restaurant: reliability is the basis for quality.
A comparison: Why the restaurant wants money today
You may have noticed: Even high-end restaurants now require a credit card number or a fee for reservations. Why? Because they depend on filling their tables. They need to buy food and schedule staff.
It's similar for me. My day is geared towards you. If you don't come, that slot stays empty – and another customer, who may have waited weeks for an appointment, would have gladly taken it.
This is how the down payment works for me
I want to make this as fair as possible. Here are the key points of my policy:
-
Security for both of us: The deposit secures your place in the calendar and gives me the assurance that you are serious.
-
The amount: The deposit varies depending on the project size. For day sessions, it is currently a maximum of €300 .
-
Settlement: Don't worry, the money isn't "gone". The deposit will of course be fully credited towards the final price on the day of the appointment.
-
Postponements: Life is unpredictable. If you cancel in time, your deposit will not be forfeited but transferred to your new alternative date.
-
No refund: There is no direct refund of the deposit. It serves as compensation for the preparation time and the reserved date, should you completely cancel the project.
Conclusion: Respect for craftsmanship
Ultimately, it's about mutual respect. The deposit allows me to fully concentrate on your design without worrying about my livelihood. This way, I can deliver the best quality for your skin.
Thank you for your understanding and your trust!
